Partner network
Thinking sustainably means thinking in terms of networks. The success of sustainable development crucially depends on the networking of all the players involved. This is why econsense continuously further expands its contacts with the whole spectrum of stakeholders from politics, industry, science, NGOs, etc. - nationally and internationally.
To strengthen international dialogue, econsense established a partnership in July 2004 with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). WBCSD is an international business leadership forum. It brings together around 180 companies committed to the objectives of sustainable development. WBCSD is active on numerous issues.
At a European level, we are the national partner organisation of CSR Europe. CSR Europe is a business-oriented EU focussed network sponsored by its members. Its specified aim is to help companies increase profitability, achieve sustainable growth, and progress in tune with the principles of corporate social responsibility applied to day-to-day business activities. econsense is in close contact with CSR Europe when dealing with activities involving the CSR and sustainable development strategy of the European Union. A lively exchange of experience takes place with the national partner network.
econsense as a German partner of the national partner network of CSR Europe has been represented on the Board of Directors since June 2006 by econsense Senior Project Manager Thomas Koenen. In addition to the company representatives, the CSR Europe Board of Directors also includes representatives of three national partner organisations (NPOs).
As a network of large corporations, links to small and medium-sized enterprises are also of great significance because the debate on sustainable economics, corporate social responsibility and grass roots involvement would be hollow without the involvement of MSEs. Via the partner organisations "Business in Partnership with Youth" (UPJ) including "Business Active in the Community" (UAG) there is a regular exchange of experience with medium-sized enterprises, which benefits both sides equally.
econsense is a partner of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), which initiated the forum in 2000. The President of the BDI Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Peter Keitel is also the Spokesman of the econsense Board of Trustees.
