Deutsche Post DHL Group calls upon its 500,000 employees to participate in Global Volunteer Day (GVD) for the sixth year in a row. This year's official GVD period runs from September 22 to October 2, when employees from all business units will again team up with independent organizations and charities to help in numerous non-profit projects to benefit the communities in which they live.

09/05/2016 | Deutsche Post DHL Group and United Nations Development Programme Hold Airport Disaster Preparedness Workshops in Bali and Lombok

Germany's Deutsche Post DHL Group and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are once again conducting their joint preventative training, known as Get Airports Ready for Disaster (GARD), from September 5 to 9 at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport, Lombok International Airport and Selaparang Airport in Lombok. Indonesia was the pilot country when the program was implemented globally in 2009 - in Makassar and Palu.

DHL has today launched the DHL Carbon Calculator. With the introduction of theCarbon Calculator, DHL now allows its customers to calculate, free of charge, transport-related emissions for almost all shipment sizes and modes of transport. The calculation is carried out online based on intelligent algorithms.

11/14/2014 | Deutsche Post DHL and Teach First Deutschland celebrate their five-year partnership working for better educational opportunity

Deutsche Post DHL has been the largest supporter of Teach First Deutschland (TFD) since the organization was founded in 2009. In Berlin, the two parties celebrated the five-year anniversary of their partnership together with prominent guests from the worlds of politics, business and education. Since the launch of the partnership, a total of 200 "Fellows", outstanding university graduates from all academic disciplines, have completed their two-year assignments working in schools in high-risk communities; an additional 130 are currently on assignment as Fellows.

DHL issued a new white paper on energy companies and their supply chain design. It endorses logistics executives to rethink traditional energy supply chain models and implement a highly integrated approach, before logistics drive up costs and destroy profit margins. The report is based on research by Lisa Harrington, President of the lharrington group LLC and Associate Director at the Supply Chain Management Center of the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland.

Today, Deutsche Post DHL presents its latest study: "Exchange, Engage, Excel: Creating Value Through Stakeholder Engagement". The study marks the fourth time that the Group has examined future trends from different areas of society and discussed them in the company's own leadership series "Delivering Tomorrow". The new study will be presented during a joint event with the Institute for Business Ethics at the University of Saint Gallen and will be accompanied by keynote speeches and a panel discussion on stakeholder management.

09/09/2014 | Deutsche Post DHL and United Nations Development Programme launch "Get Airports Ready for Disaster" workshop in Jordan

Deutsche Post DHL and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched a "Get Airports Ready for Disaster" (GARD) workshop at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman/Jordan. Running for five days the workshop prepares airport personnel. From 7th - 11th September, airport personnel gets prepared for the logistics of emergencies, including handling high volumes of incoming goods and passengers in the aftermath of a natural disaster like an earthquake, floods or hurricanes.

08/28/2014 | Deutsche Post DHL reaches green electricity benchmark

Deutsche Post DHL reached another milestone of its environmental protection program GoGreen: More than 60 percent of its global electricity demand is now generated from renewable sources. Over the past two years, the company increased its green electricity share by half - from 42 percent in 2012 to over 60 percent by 2014. Already today Deutsche Post DHL utilizes green electricity of over 90 percent, for example in Germany, the U.S., Great Britain, Ireland and France.

08/12/2014 | Deutsche Post DHL and United Nations Development Program: Five years of preparing airports for disaster program

Deutsche Post DHL and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are celebrating a special anniversary: for five years now, both organizations have been working on a joint scheme to provide selected airports in disaster prone areas with training and other special attention to help them better prepare for disasters. The "Get Airports Ready for Disaster" (GARD) programme has now worked with 25 airports to help them cope with the logistical challenge of a humanitarian crisis caused by disaster.
