Under the title “innovate – empower – connect: Translating Responsibility into Growth,” we discussed the most important issues surrounding corporate sustainability with 285 participants. We look back on ecolution 2026 with images and statements.

We want to keep moving forward, and I'm taking that energy with me today.

This quote aptly captures the spirit of this year’s “ecolution,” which took place once again on June 11 at the AXICA Congress Center on Pariser Platz in Berlin. The day demonstrated once more just how strong the econsense network is. Together, we were able to demonstrate how we can take action and make a real impact even in turbulent times. With keynotes, on-stage interviews, panel discussions, and four breakout sessions spread across two rounds, participants enjoyed a diverse program and plenty of time for networking.

Among the speakers at “ecolution 2026” were Dr. Nadine Sterley (Chief People & Sustainability Officer, GEA Group), Tanja Gönner (Executive Director, BDI e. V.), Christian Barr (Chief Financial Officer, Uniper), Dr. Dirk Voeste (Chief Sustainability Officer, Volkswagen Group), Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter (Parliamentary State Secretary at the BMUKN), Florian Hoffmann (Founder & CEO, The DO), Dr. René Deist (Chief Innovation Officer, EnBW), and Stefanie Hirsch (Executive Board Member for Sustainability, Dräger).

The day was moderated by Daniel Schmid (Chairman of the Board, econsense) as well as Dr. Thomas Koenen and Katarin Wagner (econsense Management). The full program for “ecolution 2026,” including the breakout sessions “Circular Economy,” “Artificial Intelligence,” “Leadership & Narratives,” and “Transition Finance,” can be found on our “ecolution 2026” event page. >>

The econsense Management Board's conclusion regarding ecolution 2026:

“When we talk about growth today, it’s not about simply ‘more,’ but about sustainability and impact—from the individual to the entire organization. This connection became wonderfully clear at ecolution. And not just through the program itself, but through the people who represented a diverse range of perspectives from business, politics, civil society, and academia. We take with us the mission to further strengthen the substance of sustainability in business and to develop shared narratives that provide direction and support.”

Dr. Thomas Koenen & Katarin Wagner
